To my fellow Charlestonians,

On Tuesday, March 15th I am being “Locked Up” and I need your help to raise my bail. I know some of you would rather pay to keep me in jail, but either way it helps those in our communities, no matter where we live, with Muscular Dystrophy (MD).  The goal is to raise $120,000, but more important, I have a BAIL AMOUNT of $2,800……that’s what I need help with!!!!!

Every amount helps and here is where your money will go:

$500 Assists one person for one year with the repair of a wheelchair or leg braces

$800 Sends one child to MDA summer camp

To make a donation to my bail you CLICK below to go to my MDA webpage and donate right online!  I see nothing but those names who have donated.  No monies pass through my hands…..

Help Stop Hunger in Charleston
Posted Thursday 12/23/2010 8:24 PM by Scott Key
On page 3B of today's PC there is a article on Walmart giving $1mil to the community that gets the most votes from its residents to help feed the hungry.. The money will go to food banks to help feed those in need.. I propose that we all eblast, facebook and spread the word to get residents here in Charleston to vote so that Charleston wins this money for our hungry. The contest goes until Dec 31. I have called the CVB and  MUSC to have them send a employee eblast out and am talking to the local media about doing a week long push collectively. I beleive we can win as I doubt that any other city will mount a massive push to do this. Lets all, for Christmas, get the million for our hungry!!!!  Pass this on your friends, your family, your business contacts, your friends at church, your facebooks friends and your email contacts,  it only takes a minute to vote.

Go to www.facebook.com/walmart to vote.

Merry Christmas to all of you

September Charlestonian of the Month

Charlestonian of the Month
Meet the Trainer
Lauren Dauscher

Lauren returns to Mt Pleasant after schooling in Nutrition and traveling throughout the United States. Always an avid runner, she wanted to find a balanced body workout and injury prevention while completing the St Jude’s Marathon in Memphis 2008. It was then Lauren made Pilates a part of everyday life. Lauren is classically trained and certified in the Pilates Method of body conditioning by trainer Penelope Wyer Barrow under master teacher Romana Kryzanowska at Urban Body Studios in Atlanta, GA. Lauren believes that the strength, control and flexibility Pilates training offers is essential for all body types, ages, and levels of physical ability. She helps athletes improve their performance, and those who are new to Pilates change their bodies and quality of life. Lauren will help rehabilitate injury, alignment and body pain. Her personable and creative approach to training will make your session fun and deliver results!

Sooo...what is Pilates???

Pilates is a method of body conditioning that stretches, lengthens and strengthens the body from the center out to the extremities. Developed in the early twentieth century by Joseph Pilates, the system is based on the principles of alignment while developing a strong core to protect the spine and balance the body. Pilates builds a long, lean body. With a strong center and an aligned body, you feel taller, your muscles are defined without bulk and you are less prone to injury. The mind and body are balanced. Quite simply, it works!

Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure®

October 16th, 2010

Dear Friends and Family,

I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support the 2010 Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure®on 10/16/2010in the fight against breast cancer. One in eight women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime and the more we raise, the more the Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® can give back to fund vital breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in our own community and support the national search for a cure.

Click here to visit my personal page and pledge your support.

Please join me in the fight by pledging in support of my participation in the Race or contributing generously to the 2010 Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure®. Your tax-deductible contribution will fund innovative outreach and awareness programs for medically underserved communities in the Lowcountry area and national breast cancer research. It is faster and easier than ever to support this great cause - you can make a donation online by simply clicking on the link at the bottom of this message. If you would prefer, you can also send your tax-deductible contribution to the address listed below. Whatever you can give will help! Camp Happy Days
Posted Wednesday 6/30/2010 7:57 PM by Scott Key
Dear Friends,

Please help me send as many kids to Camp Happy Days this summer. Camp Happy Days is a 1 week camp for kids with cancer which starts July 3rd. It takes numerous volunteer counselors, nurses and doctors to make the magic at camp possible for these special children. Due to the economy, funds are extremely difficult and I'll need everyone to assist me with this difficult task. To send a child to camp for a week cost $250, but no amount is too small and none too big, I'll take anything. You can help by going to the secure link below. If you aren't able to help at this time, you can still make a difference in a child's life by sharing this link to all of your friends who can. You may have to copy any paste it to your browser. Thanks to all who have given already and God Bless!
